How to Apply Chevron Kits
Required tools/products for a successful application:
- Microfibre cloth
- Cleaning fluid
- Masking tape
- Magnets
- Felt or padded squeegee
Step-by-step process
- Clean the vehicle thoroughly with detergent and water, ideally the day before application.
- Leave indoors overnight at a temperature of 20°C.
- Prepare the vehicle surface with a recommended surface prep cleaner.
- Always check the kit is complete prior to application.
- Dry fit all pieces to the vehicle using magnets and masking tape, ensuring all sections fit correctly and the chevrons line up.
- Remember, as vehicle badges are applied by hand during manufacture, it may be necessary to remove them using thin wire or dental floss before application and refit them where suitable once you're finished.
- Starting with the most critical pieces first, hinge each panel in the centre, then remove half the liner and begin to apply. Remember to ensure good squeegee technique, applying firm and even pressure, paying particular attention to all edges to maximise adhesion.
- Repeat this process with the remaining panels.
- Once completed, remove all number markings.
- Keep the vehicle indoors overnight before exposing it to the elements. This will help the adhesive to achieve maximum bond.
